Vows and Oaths

From The King James Bible
Scripture takes vows and oaths with utmost seriousness — they must be kept once made — yet Jesus teaches that the disciple's plain word should be so trustworthy that swearing becomes unnecessary.
Matthew 5:33
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
