Eleventh Step Prayer

From Alcoholics Anonymous — Original 1939 Edition by Wilson, Bill & Smith, Dr. Bob
The Eleventh Step Prayer in AA is most often associated with the Prayer of St. Francis ('Lord, make me a channel of thy peace'), embraced as a meditation guide. Step Eleven itself instructs us to pray only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out.
Not in 1939 first edition

The St. Francis Prayer was adopted into AA literature in the 12 & 12 (1953); not present in the original 1939 Big Book. Chapter 6 does provide morning and evening meditation guidance.
